My name is Isabella and I’m from North Fort Myers, Florida. In my free time, I enjoy sketching, drawing, and playing volleyball to unwind and hang out with my friends. When I’m older, I’d like to be an entrepreneur and also have the opportunity to design and build my own house.
A broad vision and the skills to match
At just 13 years old, Isabella already demonstrates the qualities of a well-rounded leader. Not only is she ambitious in her professional pursuits, but she has a keen eye for identifying critical issues—as well as the heart of a servant.
Isabella is quick to identify areas for improvement in her local community, singling out the need for affordable housing. As she would also like to design and build her own house, this is a key concern for her. And Crossover is helping her achieve it.
Isabella’s insights and ambitious leadership qualities are being refined and empowered through the program. In her own words, Crossover is “a safe place, a place where you can go to have fun and spend time with Jesus as well.” But beyond this, Crossover is also providing her with “life skills” such as financial literacy, which will prove particularly useful in her entrepreneurial ventures.
Even more importantly, Isabella has a strong faith which provides her with the courage to follow through on her convictions. As she says, being “willing to be used by God” is sure to help her make an impact.
Whether taking part in the holiday dinners, fundraisers, or ongoing events, Crossover has provided Isabella with a place to have fun and serve the community. She describes it as “an outreach for teenagers to help them find and love Jesus,” and encourages others to join.
While she enjoys spending time with everyone at Crossover, Isabella has particular respect for Coach Matt, who she characterizes as “funny, gives good advice, is good at listening, and has a strong love for God.” With such role models guiding her, it’s only a matter of time until Isabella’s lasting impact becomes clear in her community.
